Overthinking is a way of thinking which is characterized by brooding, excessive analysis and rumination over past events and situations that may have been traumatic or disturbing. It can result in a psychological distress and a sense of hopelessness. This bad habit is often associated with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder(OCD), but it should not be confused with it because not all the people who overthink have OCD. Overthinking is different from obsessing because people who overthink focus on past events rather than future ones. People who overthink usually have perfectionism tendencies or they are extremely self-critical. They constantly judge themselves for making mistakes or not being good enough at something.

Overthinking is a common problem that plagues many people. It can prevent you from enjoying life and living the present moment. It can also lead to anxiety, depression, and a host of other mental health problems.

The good news is that overthinking is a habit that can be broken. By learning to recognize the signs of overthinking and taking steps to reduce your stress levels, you can live happier and more productive life.

We all know the feeling: you're stuck in a loop of thoughts and you can't seems to stop. Your heart races, your palms get sweaty and you can't focus on anything else. You're overthinking.

Here are a few tips:

- Recognize when you're overthinking. This can be easier said than done, but it's important to catch yourself before you spiral out of control.Take a deep breath and focus on your breathing. This will help you to calm down and keep things under control by getting out of your head so you can think clearly again.

- Challenge your thoughts. Once you recognize that you're overthinking, take a step back and question your thoughts. Are they really true? are they helpful? Write down the pros and cons for example when you're trying to make a big decision in life, take time to write down all the advantage and disadvantage of each option available to you. This will help you see them clearly and evaluate the situation more clearly and to decide which option is best for you.

- Stop trying to figure everything out. We all want to know what will happen in the future and why things happened in the past. However, this kind of thinking leads us nowhere. Instead of trying to understand everything, we should accept that there might be some things we cannot figure out at this moment and just let them go.

- Don't worry about others think of you!

When you are feeling anxious about something, it is easy for your mind to wander and start worrying about what others think about you. This kind of thinking only makes matters worse as it will make you feel more anxious and stressed out when one even cares about what you do or say! So stop worrying about what others think of you!

- Do something physical like going for a walk, run outside, playing sports, dancing ,etc , to get your mind off whatever is stressing you out at the moment.

- Practice mindfulness meditation where you focus on breathing in deeply through your nose and exhaling through your mouth for a few minutes each day. This will help you to

control your thoughts.

Remember to at least meditate 10 minutes daily and...

" Be happy! Be mindful ! "
